Grange Members Potluck
Grange Members and their families gather at the Grange Hall for a potluck and social gathering on the third Tuesday every other month. This potluck gathering alternates monthly with our Business Meeting. Bring a dish to share (anything you choose!), plus your own plate/utensils and non-alcoholic beverage of your choice. Tea available.
If you are “Grange Curious,” are considering becoming a member, and/or would like to meet and talk with other Grange Members, we’d love for you to join us! Please contact Tai at CharlotteGrangeVT@gmail.com.
Worn American Flag Collection
Weather and the sun inevitably result in a worn-out flag. If your flag is tattered or soiled and it's time for a new one, the Charlotte Grange can help you make sure your old flag is taken care of properly.
On Memorial Day, the Grange will be collecting worn flags from our Charlotte cemeteries and taking them to the Vergennes American Legion to be "retired" in a Flag Day ceremony there. If you have a flag to dispose of, please bring it to the Charlotte Memorial Day event on Monday, May 27th at 9 AM at the Grandview Cemetery (403 Church Hill Rd.) OR drop off your flag at the Grange Hall (2858 Spear St.) May 25th-June 2nd. There will be a covered bin in front of the Grange Hall.
Memorial Day Gathering and Flag Placing
Join us at Grandview Cemetery on Memorial Day morning at 9am. A short ceremony will include remarks from Charlotte Veteran Jordan Paquette and a rendition of "Taps" by two CCS student musicians. After the ceremony, interested folks will help place flags on the graves of those who served and/or died in military service. This annual tradition has been held by the Charlotte Grange for many years. All are welcome to join us for the ceremony, to place flags, or both!

Community Seed Swap
Spring is finally here, so let’s kick off the gardening season together! Join us at the Charlotte Grange on Sunday, April 7, from 1 to 3 pm, to swap and share seeds and to connect with your fellow gardeners as we head into the 2024 season.
Maybe you’ve got a few extra seed packets you didn’t quite use up last year, or maybe you’ve been saving your own seeds and have more than you need. Or perhaps you just couldn’t resist the seed catalogs that filled your mailbox a few months ago, and you ordered more than your garden will hold. Bring those extra seeds to share, and pick up some new varieties to try out. But even if you don’t have extra seeds to offer yet, please come anyways - we’ll have plenty on hand!
We’ll be there from 1 pm to 3 pm, with snacks and tea. Visit with other gardeners to swap and share stories, ideas, and inspiration. We’ll have a UVM Cooperative Extension Volunteer Master Gardener on hand too, with resources and information about seed starting, seed saving, and gardening in general.
This event is co-sponsored by the Charlotte Seed Library and the Charlotte Grange, and will be held in the Grange building at 2858 Spear Street in Charlotte – for more information, contact Karen Tuininga at kknh.nh@gmail.com
See you there!

Kids Clothing Drive Drop Off Date
SCHEDULE CHANGE: With heavy snow in the forecast for this Saturday, we will be changing the in-person kids' clothing drive collection dates to Wednesday, March 27th (8:30-10:00am) and Saturday, March 30th (9:00-noon) at the Grange Hall at 2858 Spear Street in Charlotte. However, beginning this weekend we will also have a large, sealed bin on the porch at the Grange Hall for anyone who may want to drop donations off at other times.
Please consider donating outgrown kids' and teens' clothes, outerwear, and footwear to the Charlotte Hand-Me-Downs project! We are also accepting donations of large reusable shopping bags to use in re-distributing the clothing.
The Charlotte Hand-Me-Downs project is a program of the Charlotte Grange. Every spring and fall local families gather clothes their children or teenagers have outgrown and drop them at the Grange. Volunteers then sort the clothes by size and make a bag for each child served by the Charlotte Food Shelf. Any donations not needed by Charlotte families will be donated to community support organizations in neighboring towns.
The Charlotte Food Shelf is committed to provide support to our neighbors with food and assistance. To learn more, visit https://www.charlotteucc.org/copy-of-charlotte-food-shelf-1

Celebrating Charlotte Online Auction
AUCTION WEBSITE: https://auctria.events/grange
This spring, we are putting the desire to celebrate Charlotte front-and-center with our online auction. Our biennial fundraiser is unique because it has a 100% local focus: all items are donated by Charlotte owned businesses and Charlotte residents. And gosh, does our town have a lot of generous, entrepreneurial, and creative folks!
By focusing on Charlotte owned businesses and residents, our auction not only raises enough money to keep the lights on at the Grange for two years, but it also helps raise awareness for all of the amazing items and services being created and offered in our town. One of the most fun aspects of browsing the auction items is finding out about our huge variety of local entrepreneurs and what they’re up to.
Our "Celebrating Charlotte" Auction happens 100% online and runs from March 15th through March 24th. During that window of time, anyone can login at https://auctria.events/grange to view and bid on more than 100 items.
The Charlotte Grange is deeply grateful to all of the individuals and businesses who donated items and services. We thank in advance all the folks who choose to participate in the auction and bid on items. We hope you enjoy the items you win! This is truly a community effort. We are honored and inspired by the fact that so many Charlotters support our organization and its efforts. And in turn, our cup is filled by the work we do to build community and enrich our town.
