Charlotte Town Meeting Day

  • Charlotte Central School 408 Hinesburg Road Charlotte, VT, 05445 United States (map)

Town Meeting this year will be held in person at Charlotte Central School on Saturday February 28th, 2026.

You must attend this event to vote on the town budget. All articles will be voted live at Town Meeting. This includes budgets, any proposed amendments to budgets and all items that have been warned by the Selectboard.

This year’s warning includes the Charlotte Grange’s request for our property taxes to be waived for the next five years. This is an article that comes up every five years and its passing allows us to to all the work we do in the community without needing to focus valuble time and energy on raising additional money every year. We appreciate the town’s long history of voting yes!

Come visit us at the Grange table in the hallway to learn more about the Charlotte Grange.

The Charlotte Recreation Department will be offering FREE childcare for kids grades K-5 at the Charlotte Town Meeting on Saturday, February 28th, 8:45AM-1:00PM. Do not miss the meeting, we will look after your children. Kids will enjoy games, arts & crafts, sports, dance, and tumbling activities.

We are asking parents to pre-register for this program so we can get an idea of the number of kids we need to supervise.
If you do not pre-register, we will be allowing families to sign up for this childcare coverage the morning of the meeting. However, we will be limiting the number of kids we will take to 40. Link to Register: https://charlottevt.myrec.com/info/activities/default.aspx

We are still looking for at least one more adult volunteer and one more high school student to assist with this program. If you are interested in helping, please contact Gary Rogers at 802-989-2929 or email
recreation@townofcharlotte.com.

Voting for town positions (Selectboard, School Board, Library Trustee, etc.) and the school budget will be voted by paper ballot on March 3 at the Charlotte Town Hall. Absentee ballots are available at Town Hall for the paper ballot vote.
