Poets and poetry lovers are warmly invited to our monthly Poetry at the Grange series. Bring a few of your favorite poems or your own poetry to read or recite, or just come to listen.
Thursday, February 12, our featured poet will be Dan Close, a poet and novelist living in South Burlington. In addition to many prose works, he is the author of What the Abenaki Say About Dogs, a book of poetry which chronicles the lives of the Abenaki of the Champlain basin. His latest poetry collection is entitled The Night the Moon Went Sailing. Dan’s education in English Literature influenced by the poetry and song of the Beat Generation, which counter-balanced the more formal poetry taught at the university.
Should our parking lot fill up, please park at the Catholic Church just south of the Grange, by the fence. Kindly stay home if you are feeling sick and mask up if you have been exposed to someone with a contagious respiratory ailment.
Poetry at the Grange is held every second Thursday at the Grange in collaboration with the Charlotte Public Library. The winter poetry program runs from 1-2:30. This is just one of many events run by the Charlotte Grange, located at 2858 Spear St. For more information about the Charlotte Grange and to view a full calendar of interesting events, we hope you will check out our website: https://www.charlottegrange.org/
