Poetry at the Grange - at Grange on the Green!

All poetry lovers and those interested in poetry are invited to “Poetry at the Grange!”.  Our Thursday,  July 9 program will be held in conjunction with Grange on the Green as we did last year.  Local poet, Abigail Carroll will be our featured speaker and will present her work in the historic Quinlan School House adjacent to the Green and the Library starting at 4:30 pm. 

Abigail Carroll is author of three poetry collections: Cup My Days like Water,Habitation of Wonder, and A Gathering of Larks: Letters to Saint Francis from a Modern-Day Pilgrim. Her poems have been anthologized in How to Love the World: Poems of Gratitude and Hope as well as in Between Midnight and Dawn: A Literary Guide to Prayer for Lent, Holy Week, and Eastertide. Her work of nonfiction, Three Squares: The Invention of the American Meal, was a finalist for the Zócolo Public Square Prize. She lives and writes in Vermont, where she enjoys swimming holes and a well brewed cup of tea. Find her at www.abigail-carroll.com.

Our program will end by 5:30 so you can also enjoy Reid Parsons’ concert on the Green.

Poetry at the Grange! is held every second Thursday. From May through October (with the exception of July) it is held from 6:30 to 8 pm at the Grange, located at 2858 Spear St. in Charlotte, in collaboration with the Charlotte Public Library.

TODAY’S (July 9th) Grange on the Green concert will be held at our RAIN LOCATION: The Charlotte Senior Center, due to a forecast of lightning. Poetry will remain inside at the Quinlan Schoolhouse as originally planned.
