Poetry at the Grange

  • Charlotte Grange Hall 2858 Spear Street Charlotte, VT, 05445 United States (map)

Poets and poetry lovers are once again warmly invited to our monthly poetry program on November 12 from 1-2:30  (note shift to winter hours). Please note that the November program will be our last for the winter.  The ongoing and wonderful renovations as well as the temporary lack of water just reduce the cozy ambiance for the time being.

On November 12 we are pleased to welcome popular husband and wife team David Cavanagh and Sharon Webster, who will present poetry from their newest books. David’s sixth book, Please Hold, expresses woes of the world and of an individual life, as well as the bounteous, raucous, overwhelming beauty of being alive — “Sadness and uncertainty walk side by side with joy and humor.”  His work has appeared in anthologies in the U.S., Canada, and several countries in Europe, including poems translated into Italian.

Sharon’s second book, O Song, "sings the richness of everyday life: its outrageous surprises, abundant sensuality, unavoidable losses, and nuanced emotions".  Sharon combines her poems with her own visual art, lending a soulful, non-verbal dimension to the depth, beauty and music of her perspectives.

As always, we  will save time for your original and favorite poetry following the featured speakers, and you can win a prize for a memorized poem. Or, as always, just come to listen!
