Poetry at the Grange

  • Charlotte Grange Hall 2858 Spear Street Charlotte, VT, 05445 United States (map)

Poets and poetry lovers are warmly invited to our monthly Poetry at the Grange series.  Bring a few of your favorite poems or your own poetry to read or recite or just come to listen.

In October we will welcome Cindy Hill back to ring in the Halloween season. Cindy will read excerpts from her newly published book “Leed’s Point, A Gothic Novel in Verse”. The spooky scene is set in 1702 in the coastal marshes of a West Jersey colony. Be prepared for a little horror, but in sonnet verse.  She will also read other horror poetry from “The Raven” and other contemporary collections. Cindy Hill is a writer-musician-poet hailing from Middlebury and author of four other poetry collections.  Poet participants are encouraged to bring seasonal or Halloween-themed poems (or not!).

Should our parking lot fill up, please park at the Catholic Church just south of the Grange, by the fence.  Kindly stay home if you are feeling sick and mask up if you have been exposed to someone with a contagious respiratory ailment.

Poetry at the Grange is held every second Thursday at the Grange in collaboration with the Charlotte Public Library. The spring, summer, and fall Poetry Programs run from 6:30-8pm. This is just one of many events run by the Charlotte Grange, located at 2858 Spear St.  For more information about the Charlotte Grange and to view a full calendar of interesting events, we hope you will check out our website:  https://www.charlottegrange.org/
